Longarm Services Request Form

Please add your mobile number if you permit me to text you (i.e. questions, photos, updates). If not, leave blank and we'll communicate through email.

Is your backing directional to your quilt top?
Is your backing square and at minimum 4" larger than the quilt top on all sides?
Yes

In order to give you the best results possible, please ensure that your backing fabric is squared up and a total of 8" wider and 8" longer than your quilt top. This gives me the necessary 4" fabric allowance to attach the backing to the longarm. Your backing can be larger but not smaller.

Leave blank if there is no deadline. Email me for availability if the date requested is within 30 days.

CORRECTIVE MEASURES DISCLAIMER

All measures will be taken to provide a quality product. Should minor issues arise, they will be addressed. Issues requiring substantial correction will be discussed and estimated prior to completion.

Certification
I have read the Quilt Prep page and agree to the Corrective Measures Disclaimer.
  • So, you have a really big sewing machine, huh?
Yes, it's like a regular one, but it ate its vegetables. My quilting machine is a 14' Gammill Statler Ascend. His name is Waldorf.
  • Do you do custom quilting?
No, I only do edge-to-edge pantos.
  • Edge-to-edge? Is that like when I eat pizza crust first?
Not quite as controversial, it just means the same design across the whole quilt.
  • How long will it take? Asking for a friend who really needs a nap.
Depends on the quilt size, design complexity, and current work queue, but I'll try to get it back to your friend ASAP for maximum nap potential. Current turn around time is on my Home page.
  • My quilt top is... well, let's just say "unique." Can you still quilt it?
I have seen it all, or close to it! Just bring it on, the more "unique," the better the story. And there is no judgement here- I do not want anyone to feel their quilt top isn't worth quilting. We all start somewhere; if you love it, I love it! The only thing I ask is to go check out the Quilt Prep section for best practices. Contact me if you have any questions.
  • My backing is a little smaller than the top. Is that a problem, or will your machine just... stretch it?
My machine is powerful, but not that powerful. Backings must be at least 8" bigger (length and width) than your top. Check out Quilt Prep for more info.
  • Thread colors? Do you have, like, ALL the colors? Even that weird beige-y one my aunt loves?
I aim for a good color selection, and yes, probably even that beige.
  • What if my quilt top is really big? Like, freaking HUGE?
My machine will accommodate quilt tops up to 140".
  • Can you longarm multiple pieces on the same backing?
Yes, and I highly recommend it when you have several smaller pieces (baby quilts, table runners, place mats, etc...).
  • Do you provide batting?
Yes, but you can send your own (clean, new, pet and smoke-free) batting, though it's probably more economical to buy mine than to ship it. See the quilting cost calculator for more info.
  • What About Shipping?
I utilize Pirate Ship to get the best shipping rate when it is time to send your quilt home. Regardless of the shipping service (USPS, FedEx, UPS), I always opt for tracking and recommend additional insurance. Shipping cost will be provided on your final invoice.
  • What's the deal with the bed sheets?
I've always been a thrifter and would pick up vintage bedsheets, knowing I wanted to rescue them and give them a new life, but in what form, I had no idea. I made a few shirts, thought about bags, but the large graphics present a bit of a challenge when it comes to pattern placement. Then one day, I threw a a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle sheet on my longarm to quilt as a gift. Then it hit me! Duh! Whole cloth quilts like those poofy, cross-hatch quilted comforters we had as kids... but cooler!
  • Ooh! I still have my sheets from my childhood. Can you quilt it for me?
Absolutely! You can use the Calculator to get a rough idea of the cost. Get in touch with me via the Contact form if you have questions, or you can go ahead and Book A Quilt.
  • How do you calculate the cost of the Piece of Sheet quilts in your shop?
All of the quilts in my online shop are priced the same way I calculate my longarm services plus the cost of the sheet or quilt top- backing, batting, thread, quilting, and making/attaching binding are factored into the final cost. It is no different than if someone wanted me to take their quilt top and turn it into a finished quilt.
